The Board commenced its training programme for the year 2010. The programme envisaged a target audience of 1500 persons taking from the agriculture growing communities across the country. The trainings targeted farmers and farmhands within the sugar, rice and other crops sectors in regions 2,3,4,5,6 and 10. Participants were exposed to the safe techniques of handling, transporting, storing, spraying and disposal of Pesticides.
The trainings were conducted in conjunction with Ministry of Agriculture Extension Department, Crops Development Support Services, National Agricultural Research Institute, Guyana Rice Development Board and Guyana Marketing Corporation with representatives from these agencies making informed presentations relating to their organizations.
